Sunflower

Got this gem from my little guy today. I found it rolled up in his back pack. He said it was a sunflower but wasn't quite sure how to draw the seed in the ground but colored the roots black. I asked if his teacher told them to draw a picture for the parents. No, he said he just drew it for me......smile...smile....smile.....

Spring & Sun

Looked out the front door and was greeted with a floral surprise! It is so nice to be home to notice and appreciate these little gems! Trying to stay focused today to clean the basement. Will keep you posted on my progress.

Kolcannon

Scratch another item off my 2010 resolution list. I took a Taste of Ireland cooking class through the technical college that was offered at our high school. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I met some fun people and ate great food. I ended up making another dish of Kolcannon, corned beef and irish bread on Saturday night. Alex's grandpa was visiting for the weekend so we celebrated St. Patrick's day early. I am finally getting over my cold and so happy the sun is peeking out today. I am getting a lot of cleaning done and I hope I stay focused for the rest of the week!

That's Amore

We had a fun night. Our neighbor called to see what we were doing and ended up coming over for supper. We made it into an Italian themed night with Dean Martin playing on the computer. The evening concluded with a quick viewing of a DVD on Italy. I sure hope we can take Alex to experience Europe when he gets older.

Earlier, Alex helped Papa add water to the hot tub and they finished sanding the derby car. Tomorrow it gets weighed and gets the first coat of paint.

Let The Sun Shine In....and the Sickness Out....

Last night we enjoyed a nice, relaxing evening without any croup. Alex went to the doctor and got some cortisone as it had been 5 hellish evenings of sickness. After doing the steam in the bathroom, holding him outside in the cold and pumping him with Delsym and acetaminophen, it just wasn't enough. One popsicle and a dose of cortisone and my boy is back!

Last night, Alex and Papa worked on the pinewood derby car. The boys were so excited yesterday when the tool arrived from Costco so they could begin sanding and shaping the Mach 4. After having some burgers from Culver's, I actually started the cleaning process of the basement. Don't get too excited...it was only a little vacuuming and sorting of "way too many toys", but the peanut got involved and we made it fun for an hour. (drum roll please....Days of Cleaning Basement=1)

Today we have the God & Me scouting program which I hope will be interesting. Papa is going too so I hope we can go for a ride or something fun after the session is done today. We all need a dose of vitamin D from the sun.

This is a picture of my most cherished times...when all of us are snuggled in bed watching a movie. I couldn't pass this evening up without capturing a picture of my boys!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Fun Monday:)

So, I am a little late.... but had to post pictures of a Monday that Alex did not have school. We had so much fun at the sledding hill. We almost didn't go, but Alex decided he wanted to go and fun was had by all! It was a crazy morning though...two light bulbs burned out, the fuse "blew" on the microwave downstairs (no competing electricity), the garage door broke and the toilet got plugged. I didn't even know until Alex told me there was water all over the bathroom floor. Yikes! When I tried to fix it, I managed to spray Alex with the hose in the toilet (which is clean). I would have paid $$$ to see a video of us. We were such a team and to hear Alex laugh about getting wet - Priceless!

Blue & Gold Ceremony

Blue and Gold Ceremony was last weekend and Alex is now a Tiger! This weekend we are taking the Tigers ice fishing. Should be a fun time!
